Read the menu

A whole feast of possibilities.

Rolls, paneer, mango lassi, samosas and gulab jamun arranged on a linen table.

01

The room

A quiet corner on Loudon Street, set for a long conversation or a second cup.

02

The menu

Coffee from the machine, rolls from the tawa, and plates that follow the morning market.

03

The evening

From three until six, the bar pours a second drink on the house.

A closer look at the rolls, chutneys and brass bowls on the Soft Hour table.

New on the pass

Plates for a slow afternoon

The kitchen writes a short card and keeps to it. A kathi roll still warm from the tawa, paneer with mint, a mango lassi if the fruit is good, and coffee that is not in a hurry.

Soft Hour is a café first. Stay for one cup, or stay through the hour the room was named for.

A quiet set after dinner on the first Friday of the month. Seats are the ordinary ones.

Sunday lunch spread at Soft Hour.

Buy one drink, get one free

Every day at the bar, between three and six. Ask when you order the second glass. It is a house note, not a voucher.

The kitchen

Made with love

Soft Hour started as a coffee counter and grew a kitchen beside it. The name is the part of the day when the room is fullest and nobody is watching the clock. We still cook as if the table is a friend’s.
